Balighai 8 km from Puri,  on the confluence of the river Nuanai  and the Bay of Bengal, bordered with lovely casuarina plantations is a quiet and tranquil beach.There is a Sea Turtle Research Centre.One may also have a glimpse of the  Baliharina deer who inhabit the area. It is a popular picnic spot.

By Air  :- Bhubaneswar which is 68 kms from here is the nearest airport.Indian Airlines has flight from Delhi, Calcutta, Chennai,Hyderabad and Mumbai.
By Rail :- Puri the nearest railhead is 8 km from here.It is a terminus of the S.E. Railways having fast and super-fast train links with Delhi,Calutta,Baidyanathdham etc.
By Road :- Puri - 8 km, and 60 km from Bhubaneswar  by state highway.One can also approach by road via Konark and then through the Marine Drive covering about 100 km.
