Organisational Structure
The authorities of the university under the Act, are:
(1) the Academic Council
(2) the Board of Management
(3) the Faculties
(4) the Board of Studies.
The Vice-Chancellor is the Principal Executive Officer of the University. The Board of Management has executive functions and approves the recommendations of the Academic Council, the Board of Studies and Faculties for academic programmes of the university. It takes the policy decisions, makes appointments of all teachers, exercise control over the institutions of the university, makes Statues, creates research fellowships, scholarships, studentships, bursaries, medals and prizes, etc. The Vice-Chancellor is the Chairman of Board of Management and Academic Council. Other members are:-
Secretary to Government, Culture Department,
Secretary to Government, Finance Department,
Chief Executive, Odissi Research Centre,
Director of Culture,
3 persons one each from the spheres of literary arts, visual arts and performing arts to be nominated by the Chancellor from among members of Academic Council,
President of Orissa Sahitya Akademi,
President of Orissa Lalita Kala Akademi,
President of Orissa Sangeet Natak Akademi,
Principals of 2 Government Arts Colleges of Bhubaneswar & Khallikote,
Principal of Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, Bhubaneswar
Registrar
Finance Officer,
Controller of Examinations,
Two members of Orissa Legislative Assembly to be elected by the Members of the Assembly.
