Future Plans
- The university proposes:
- To bring out Standard Dictionaries related Oriya language.
- To build a Documentation Centre, an Archive and a Gallery for preservation and conduct research studies on culture.
- To establish a Library for use of the teachers, students, researches and a palm-leaf manuscript library.
- To encourage inter-disciplinary studies encompassing culture
- Tribal and Folk Culture:
The university envisages to tap the vast resources of rich cultural heritage of the tribal groups of Orissa through study, research, documentation and preservation, so that is would be possible to establish a distinct and enlightening identity for Orissan culture.
- Language:
Facilities for imparting instructions in foreign languages such as Chinese, Japanese, German and French would be available in future. So also, short-duration courses for learning other Indian languages viz.: Hindu, Sanskrit, Urdu, Telgu, Bengali, Tamil, Assamese etc. will also be introduced.
- Translation:
For inter-language interaction with respect to various languages such as Oriya, Sanskrit, Hindi and English, the University has created facilities for course in translation from one language to other, the spirit being to achieve national integration as well as center to utilitarian needs.
- Other Fields:
As we go along, newer vistas of allied areas have been planned to be started, such as:
- The Jagannath Culture
- Vedic Studies
- Tantrik lore, its mandals, practices and literature
- Aesthetics of Sculpture
- Yoga, Yogic Studies
- Astrology
- Dynamics of modern culture-forces of change socio-economic and political
- Growth of urban culture vis-à-vis the traditional rural culture
The University hopes to be a comprehensive center of excellence in all matters relating to culture and cultural ideas.
